Amy Achata, LPC-MHSP (TEMP), NCC

Amy believes meaningful connection changes people — this is what the therapeutic process is about. She is passionate about encouraging growth and restoration for those questioning their purpose or identity and searching for meaning. She works with individuals facing grief and loss, generational trauma, racial identity, emotional neglect, parental questions, religious trauma, anxiety, attachment, mid-life evaluation, and personal identity development.

Amy believes that your story is vital to understanding where you are. How you view the world and relate to people is impacted by what your body has been trained to do. Your emotions and body responses hold clues to where you may need to pay attention and heal. Raising your insight to what may be hidden in plain sight may be the clue to unlocking more of your story and create the environment you need to heal, grow and live the flourishing life you desire.

Amy earned a BBA in Business Management in 1999, and later her BA in History in 2003. After working in the business world and a short stint in teaching, she focused on raising her children and as she moved all over the United States as her husband built a business. As her children grew older Amy decided to return to school to earn her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Richmont University. Amy is also a board certified counselor by the NBCC.

For fun, Amy likes to knit, read, practice yoga, sip coffee and is still learning to keep up with her high energy husband of twenty-two years. She has two children, one in high school, and the other entering college. Amy enjoys deep, meaningful connection and her favorite place on earth is the beach.
