Grief Counseling
Where there is change there is loss and where there is loss there is grief.
We experience loss in many different ways, through death, divorce, natural disasters, illness, or even expected life transitions such as a child going away to college, a move, a new job. It is important to remember that everyone’s grief is unique and what feels helpful depends on the individual. However, it is common to experience shock, anger, denial, and sadness, among other things. Often, one can feel lost in grief and unable to imagine the future.
At Scout, we have clinicians trained and willing to accompany you in your grief, based on the latest resources and research by David Kessler, Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, and others. Individuals can expect an exploration of the stages and tasks of grief, empathic listening, and exploration of the emotions and beliefs around loss. If you are experiencing grief over the loss of a loved one, or some other major change, our grief specialist, Amy Achata or Amy Fowler, would love to work with you.
